My name is — and I am an alcoholic.
Thanks, so much to A.A.
for sending all the information regarding starting a meeting in our
facility. I do believe that with patience and persistence, and faith
in God we will have meetings here shortly. I also have tremendous
support from outside A.A. in the area, which is about 8 1/2 hours
from here. They are trying to help from a distance and keeping me
and the other inmates in their prayers. Fortunately, there is a great
spiritual atmosphere here, although the practical application of
spiritual principles through A.A. would be incredible! Thank you

5. Adult children of alcoholics have difficulty having fun.
6. Adult children of alcoholics take themselves very seriously.
7. Adult children of alcoholics have difficulty with intimate relationships.
8. Adult children of alcoholics overreact to changes over which they have no control.
9. Adult children of alcoholics constantly seek approval and affirmation.
10. Adult children of alcoholics usually feel that they are different from other people.
11. Adult children of alcoholics are super responsible or super irresponsible.
12. Adult children of alcoholics are extremely loyal, even in the face of evidence that the loyalty is undeserved.
13. Adult children of alcoholics are impulsive. They tend to lock themselves into a course of action without giving serious consideration to alternative behaviors or possible consequences. This impulsively leads to confusion, self-loathing and loss of control over their environment. In addition, they spend an excessive amount of energy cleaning up the mess.

Who can talk the flower out of blooming?
Flower in Vase
This budding daffodil contains
A universe in birth:
Each molecule a galaxy,

A macrocosmic vase.

But God can never be confined

JOHN HINCKLEY
You might recall that John Hinckley was a seriously deranged young man who shot President Reagan in the early 1980s.
Hinckley was absolutely obsessed with movie star Jodie Foster, extremely jealous, and in his twisted mind, loved Jodie Foster to the point that to make himself well known to her, he attempted to assassinate President Reagan. There is speculation Hinckley may soon be released as having been rehabilitated.
Consequently, you may appreciate the following letter from John McCain that the staff at the mental facility, treating Hinckley , reports to have intercepted this past weekend:

My wife and I wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how pleased we are with the great strides you are making in your recovery. In our fine country’s spirit of understanding and forgiveness, we want you to know there is a non partisan consensus of compassion and forgiveness throughout.
My wife Cindy and I want you to know that no grudge is borne against you for shooting President Reagan. We, above all, are aware of how the mental stress and pain could have driven you to such an act of desperation.
We are confident that you will soon make a complete
recovery and return to your family to join the world again as a healthy and productive young man.
